Title: Empowering Youth Through Circular Innovation – Li-ion Battery SOH Training Pilot Description: We’re excited to introduce a technical pilot initiative developed in collaboration with UJ PEETS that supports sustainable industrialisation and youth upskilling in the green economy. Who are we? K2021928117 Pty Ltd is a circular resource recovery start-up based in Frankfort, Free State, working at the intersection of waste innovation, sustainability, and inclusive industrial development. What’s happening? We’re co-developing a pilot training project on Lithium-ion Battery State of Health (SOH) testing and diagnostics. The focus is on giving second life to used batteries, reducing environmental harm, and equipping unemployed youth with skills in battery recovery, green energy, and circular product life extension. Where? Training will be anchored at UJ PEETS facilities (Johannesburg), with participants sourced from Free State communities. When? Q3–Q4 2025, 12 and 13 August, pending participant. Potential pilot project after training. Why does it matter? This project bridges ESG goals and grassroots realities—turning waste into opportunity, supporting youth employment, and enabling scalable circular energy practices. ESG & SDG Alignment * Environmental: Battery waste recovery and reduced landfill pressure * Social: Skills development for unemployed youth * Governance: Compliance with circular economy and EPR regulations Directly contributing to: ✅ SDG 4 (Quality Education) ✅ SDG 7 (Affordable Clean Energy) ✅ SDG 8 (Decent Work) ✅ SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption) ✅ SDG 13 (Climate Action) We’re seeking CSI-aligned partners to assist with participant logistics (transport, meals, PPE) and to explore long-term replication of this model. Let’s build a youth-led, circular/ green future—starting with batteries.
